A Level and GCSE English Tutoring Services

Tutoring Options

Each English lesson is designed to meet a student’s specific learning goals at a time that suits them and is followed up by an email offering resources, study skills guidance, and suggestions for study. This enables students to work purposefully between scheduled sessions.

  • For students revising for upcoming examinations or for those in the final stages of a project on a specific English literature text. These can be challenging and stressful periods of a student’s life and I offer academic strategies and holistic support in the period before external assessments.

  • For students requiring on-going support with their learning and home-schooled students seeking additional opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills.

These sessions follow the curriculum to reinforce the student’s learning and extend their subject knowledge.

  • For many students,  tutoring needs meet a range of evolving requirements in order to take into account both short and long term challenges.  A student might, for example, want to work on A Level literature  texts alongside support with the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification).  They may also need guidance on university choices and strategies for writing their UCAS personal statement.  In these circumstances, sessions involve elements of both teaching and mentoring.

As an educator, I am mindful of all obstacles to learning and committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
